Accessibility statement

Last reviewed October 24, 2026

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or high-contrast settings.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, as our technical accessibility target. The U.S. Department of Justice’s guidance on web accessibility and the ADA explains the importance of accessible websites and combining automated and manual checks. This statement describes our work toward that goal. It is not a certification, and we do not claim that the site is fully conformant.

What we have done

  • Page structure uses landmarks, one main heading per page and headings in order.
  • A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing reached by keyboard.
  • Every control works with a keyboard and has a visible focus outline. The header does not stick to the screen, so it cannot cover focused content.
  • Text and interface colours are chosen to meet AA contrast ratios: 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and control borders.
  • Buttons and links in menus and the demonstration are at least 44 by 44 CSS pixels.
  • Images of tie cards have short descriptions plus a full text version of each card nearby.
  • The sketch demonstration can be used with buttons instead of dragging, and announces each change to screen readers.
  • Content reflows to a single column at 320 CSS pixels wide and stays usable when zoomed to 400%. Only the wide status table scrolls sideways, inside its own keyboard-focusable area.
  • Motion is minimal, and smooth scrolling and decorative tilt are turned off when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • Nothing is shown only on hover.

How we test

Each release of the website is checked with automated tools (axe-core rules for WCAG 2.0–2.2 A and AA, and our own build tests for headings, image text, labels and colour contrast) and by hand: keyboard-only use, zoom and narrow screens, and reduced-motion settings. Automated tools find only part of the possible problems, so manual review remains necessary.

Known limitations

  • Full testing with screen readers (such as NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver), Windows high-contrast settings and physical mobile devices has not yet been completed.
  • The tie-card examples are images of printed cards. Their content is provided as text next to each image. The house preset drawings are line art; each has its name and a written description.
  • This statement covers this website only. The UtiliFolio Windows application has not yet been formally assessed against WCAG; ask us if you need details about it.
